Haynes noted that following his record-breaking achievement, Ademola Adebaroye faced a wave of criticism. Some fans contended that only the top five players in the league, or even the greatest fifteen players of all time, merited the honor of surpassing the legendary status of figures like Kobe Bryant.

Haynes commented that had Booker been the one to set the new record, the backlash might have been significantly less, as many perceive Booker as a scorer rather than viewing Adebayo in the same light.
