In 2018, Arsenal expanded their stadium capacity by adding 780 new seats; however, the demand for premium corporate and private suites at酋长球场continues to outstrip availability, necessitating extended waiting periods. The prospect of further increasing seating capacity through subterranean excavation presents intricate challenges, including complex pipeline installations and other construction hurdles. Moreover, manager Mikel Arteta is reluctant to sacrifice the home-field advantage that comes with playing at酋长球场, especially when considering potential temporary moves to venues like Wembley, which could potentially disrupt the team's momentum and form.
Over the past five seasons, Arsenal's matchday revenue has surged nearly twofold, reaching approximately £154 million, a trend attributed in part to the team's return to the UEFA Champions League. The club has consistently been working to boost its income through a diverse array of corporate offerings, and this summer, it introduced an innovative "Player's Tunnel Suite" package. The price for a single match in the English Premier League under this service can reach up to £6,500, a move that mirrors Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City's strategies.
The Arsenal Fanshare Trust has confirmed that the club has assured them there will be no reduction in the number of seats on the general stands to accommodate additional corporate suites. The overall capacity of酋长球场 shall remain unchanged, with the emphasis on enhancing the facilities behind the scenes, which is anticipated to include an expansion of premium hospitality offerings. The trust has been reassured by the club's commitment that there are no plans to relocate or cut any seats on the general stands. However, all fans are urged to remain vigilant and to continually emphasize the significance of their role as guardians of the club.
